It’s amazing how much of America’s cultural iconography is connected in ways big and small to New Rochelle.  Just visit the Walk of Fame at Library Green to get a taste of the luminaries who have called our city home.  And this Sunday from 3:00pm to 5:00pm (ceremony at 4:00pm), we induct a new addition: Robert May, the creator of Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer.

For Sunday’s celebration, Ruby Dee Park will be transformed into a winter wonderland with Rudolph characters, music and dancing, arts and crafts, make-a-gift, face-painting, and a gingerbread bounce house. Participants are invited to dress as a reindeer — free antlers and red noses will be provided.  Not owning a reindeer outfit myself, I will probably wear my usual suit and tie, but I’ll consider donning some antlers.
