The following message was just sent citywide. DPW will make multiple visits to impacted neighborhoods during the course of the week. In addition, New Rochelle is waiving all fees associated with storm repair and construction. More information is below, and further bulletins will follow on a regular basis as recovery efforts proceed.
This is the City of New Rochelle with storm recovery information for Tuesday, September 7.
Para espanol, oprima numero uno.
DPW will make multiple visits to impacted neighborhoods during the course of the week to collect storm debris and garbage. Certain crews will be assigned to specific types of debris, so some items may not be picked up all at once. Please consult newrochelleny.com/DPW or call 914-235-4654 for information about proper disposal of bulk metal, refrigerators, and electronics, and note that construction debris should be separated from other refuse. In addition, yard waste collection this week is cancelled, so that all available personnel and equipment can be directed to storm clean-up.
As we rebuild, the City will waive all fees for repair, disposal, or construction, including electrical and plumbing fees, resulting from storm damage.
As reported yesterday, residents can apply for federal aid by visiting FEMA.gov or disasterassistance.gov or by calling FEMA at 1-800-621-3362.
To learn about additional storm recovery resources visit ny.gov/ida, and for information about social services, including food and shelter, call 2-1-1.
Once again, we advise residents to be in touch with their insurance companies and to document losses with photographs, receipts, and invoices.
The City will continue providing additional information on a continuous basis. Check newrochelleny.com or our social media accounts for updates.
This has been Mayor Noam Bramson. Thank you for listening.
