Here’s the latest storm recovery update from the City. Please note that pickup of construction and demolition debris requires an appointment, which must be made no later than Monday at 4:30pm. More information in the message below.
This is the City of New Rochelle with a storm recovery update for Friday, September 10.
Para espanol, oprima numero uno.
Please listen closely to the following information concerning construction and demolition debris, such as building materials, drywall, and lumber.
Construction and demolition debris will be picked up by DPW only by appointment, and you must contact DPW no later than Monday at 4:30pm to make an appointment. To register for debris pickup call 914-235-4654 or complete the online form at newrochelleny.com/debrisappointment. Debris will then be picked up on a rolling basis, as resources permit.
Construction and demolition debris is not ordinarily collected by the City. We are making an exception purely for storm-related damages and only on a temporary basis. If an appointment is not made by Monday at 4:30pm, then the collection of construction and demolition debris will revert to a private responsibility, as usual.
For other waste, DPW will continue operating on extended hours through the weekend. Please leave paper recycling at the curb until it’s collected. And, if you were not impacted by flooding, please, if possible, refrain from putting out standard household and kitchen waste this week. Finally, we are extending our summer collection hours through next week, so please have material to the curb by 6:00am.
Comprehensive and updated resources and links, including federal disaster aid and information from prior messages, can be found at newrochelleny.com/idarecovery.
This will be the last of our daily calls related to storm recovery, but the City will, of course, provide additional bulletins as needed whenever there is significant new information, and you can always check the City’s social media accounts for the latest.
This has been Mayor Noam Bramson. Thank you for listening.
