I just sent the following citywide message.  Residents and businesses impacted by the remnants of Hurricane Ida should consider applying for federal disaster assistance.  New Rochelle will continue providing information and resources to help facilitate recovery.

This is the City of New Rochelle with an important storm recovery update.

Para espanol, oprima numero uno.

The federal government has issued a Major Disaster Declaration for our region. As a result, residents and businesses can now apply for federal financial aid to cover damage from the remnants of Hurricane Ida.

To learn more or to submit an application, visit FEMA.gov or disasterassistance.gov or call FEMA at 1-800-621-3362.

Be sure to continue documenting losses with photographs, receipts, and invoices.

In addition, the New York State Department of Financial Services is able to offer assistance with filing private insurance claims. To obtain help, visit dfs.ny.gov or call the DFS Disaster Hotline at 1-800-339-1759.

Finally, general information about recovery resources can be found at ny.gov/ida.

This is a major crisis for many in our community, and a time for all of us to support our neighbors. The City will continue providing updates and resources on an ongoing basis, in partnership with other levels of government and local agencies.

This has been Mayor Noam Bramson. Thank you for listening.
