New Rochelle is poised to adopt New York’s Stretch Energy Code, an ambitious package of construction and building standards that promotes energy efficiency, reduces greenhouse gas emissions, and supports public health. This significant action strengthens New Rochelle’s status as a progressive environmental leader, and it also makes good economic sense by better positioning our community to attract green investment dollars, giving us improved access to State grants, and encouraging local builders and contractors to adjust early to inevitable statewide requirements.
