In the early stages of New Rochelle’s public health crisis, no group carried a heavier burden than the congregation of Young Israel of New Rochelle, many of whose members contracted COVID-19, and many more of whom were placed in quarantine. The congregation’s responsible and public-spirited actions were a big factor in restraining New Rochelle’s outbreak of the virus. Now YINR members are once again rising to the occasion by donating blood plasma that may help treat other patients.
