Sometimes it takes a difficult challenge to bring out the best in us, and here is one amazing example: In a gesture of support and kindness, New Rochelle’s Girl Scouts distributed purple ribbons throughout the neighborhood most impacted by the coronavirus outbreak. In gratitude, many members of the congregation of Young Israel of New Rochelle made donations to the Scouts, raising thousands of dollars. These may be small actions in the context of a global pandemic, but what a heart-warming illustration of our city’s strength and decency. Goodness begets goodness, and we can all draw inspiration from the joyful leadership of these young women. #NewRoStrong
