Rendering of 26 South Division

Another important downtown milestone this morning, with the ground-breaking for 26 South Division Street, the first of two towers being constructed at the site of the former Church-Division garage.

RXR’s second project in New Rochelle, 26 South Division will feature 352 apartments, a valet parking garage, lounge, co-working space, speakeasy, and more than 12,000 square feet of retail.  Together with the second tower, which will break ground next year, the rebuilt site will also include a new public plaza and additional public parking spaces.  All in all, a big boost for the downtown economy — and quite a positive change from the old garage, which was literally falling down and would have cost millions simply to stabilize.

In addition, RXR announced the formation of a new “Building Community Foundation,” with $225,000 in seed funding, that will direct resources to local priorities related to youth enrichment, workforce development, parks, recreation and wellness, environmental sustainability, and public safety.  Our goal is equitable and inclusive prosperity, from which all of us can benefit, and this foundation is a good step in that direction.
