If you like Caribbean cuisine, you will love the new Krave at 8 South Division Street. For dinner last week, Catie, Jeremy, and I shared cod fish cakes and pepper shrimp to start, then moved on to stewed oxtail, fried chicken, and ackee with red herring as our entrees, and finished up with two kinds of cheesecake for dessert. Cocktails and Red Stripe for me and Catie. Fruit punch for Jeremy. We left very happy and very satisfied.
The chef/owners, who built a devoted following at A Place to Go, have really outdone themselves in designing Krave — the interior is large and airy, tables and banquettes spaced very comfortably, a generous bar, and walls filled with artwork. Plus, there’s a glass-enclosed area suitable for private parties. The restaurant is immediately adjacent to the former Church-Division parking garage and is ideally positioned to attract customers from the RXR project now under construction at the site.
