The first winter storm of the season is hitting our area much harder than forecast.  To make matters worse, the heavy snowfall has arrived during rush hour.  As a result, roads throughout the region are badly snarled, with long delays everywhere.  New Rochelle’s plows and salt-spreaders are out and working, but, like everyone else, they are having trouble making their way through traffic.  Conditions are likely to remain poor, until the snow changes over to rain.  All that is to say: please stay off the roads and avoid travel, if possible.

As a minor side note, I feel rather embarrassed that the City’s robocall for Saturday’s Thanksgiving Parade arrived this afternoon, right in the thick of the storm — seems out of touch, to say the least.  For those concerned, let me note that the robocall was recorded much earlier and pre-scheduled to run at 5pm.  The City’s focus during this (or any) storm is road safety and accessibility.
