There are two very important elections this coming Tuesday, April 24th. While Catie and I live just outside the district boundaries and — frustratingly — cannot vote in either contest, we do enthusiastically recommend the Democratic candidates.
Shelley Mayer for State Senate

Shelley Mayer
Shelley Mayer is universally admired among colleagues for her intelligence, integrity, and effectiveness. She will be a dynamic advocate for our community and a champion of progressive priorities, including gun safety, environmental protection, reproductive rights, and support for public education. This single election may well determine whether Democrats or Republicans control the New York State Senate, giving this local contest special significance. I am proud to call Shelley a friend and have absolute confidence that she will be an outstanding representative for New Rochelle and our region.
Terry Clements for County Legislature

Terry Clements
Terry Clements is running for an open seat on the County Legislature. As an educator, small business owner, volunteer, and community leader, Terry has already made significant contributions to New Rochelle and Westchester. As a County Legislator, Terry will be a key ally of County Executive George Latimer, helping him to implement innovative progressive policy, while also putting Westchester’s long-neglected fiscal house in order.
Help on Election Day – Join Me at Noon
Hundreds of volunteers will be working to get out the vote (GOTV) on Election Day. If you’re interested in helping, please join me at noon at New Rochelle campaign headquarters at 2 Hamilton Avenue, next to City Hall.
Be Sure to Vote
If you’re not sure whether you live within these districts, you can view the State Senate lines here and the County Legislative lines here. And to check your polling place, please visit the Board of Elections website.
Elections in April are unusual, so turnout will be a key variable in determining the outcome. Please be sure to vote and also remember to bring your family and friends to the polls, too. Thank you for considering my input.
