Following below is today’s city-wide message on storm recovery. Last night’s storm was less severe than feared in terms of snowfall, but, nonetheless, resulted in more downed trees and hundreds of new power outages. Still a long road ahead.
This is a storm recovery update from the City of New Rochelle.
More than 2,000 households in New Rochelle do not have power, including week-long outages from Riley and new damage from last night’s storm. Con Ed has resumed power restoration, and we will continue pushing hard for Con Ed to accelerate repairs.
Con Ed’s restoration estimates have proven entirely unreliable, and if you do not have power, we urge you to contact Con Ed on a daily basis at 1-800-75-CONED or online at www.coned.com.
Free metered parking at the Transit Center and New Roc garages will end at 8pm tonight.
Dry ice is once again available near City Hall on Hamilton Avenue until 8pm.
Stay clear of downed power lines.
And please check in on elderly or infirm neighbors, especially those who do not have power.
Additional bulletins will follow as needed. And for more information, please visit www.newrochelleny.com.
This has been Mayor Noam Bramson. Thank you for listening.
