The most powerful weapon available to terrorists isn’t a bomb or a gun, it’s terror itself, which magnifies every incident, expands the circle of victims, and assaults the pillars of our society. Which is why the back-to-business attitude of New Yorkers to yesterday’s subway attack, described here in the New York Times, is the perfect response.
Let’s support law enforcement in its vital responsibilities, and then let’s do our part by living our lives and not permitting cowards to intimidate us. I am proud of New Yorkers.
