Hudson Park

I just sent the following city-wide robocall about upcoming activities and events in New Rochelle.  (And here’s more information about the Parks Passport mentioned in paragraph two.)

This is the City of New Rochelle with an invitation to take part in our full calendar of activities starting this weekend with Memorial Day observances, including a ceremony at Memorial Plaza on Monday at 10am.

Hudson Park Beach also opens this weekend, and admission is free this year.  And if you purchase a new Parks Passport, it includes free parking at all of our park locations.

On June 2nd and 3rd, our two farmers markets will open for the season.  Every Friday, you can visit the Down to Earth market on North Avenue in front of the High School, and every Saturday, you can shop the Downtown market at Ruby Dee Park on Library Green.  Fresh produce, baked goods, and more — plus the downtown Saturday market features music and demonstrations.

Also on June 3rd is the second annual Senior Expo at the Hugh Doyle Senior Center, featuring over 50 vendors who can help with every stage of aging.  On Sunday, June 4th, the annual Soap Box Derby will roll down Quaker Ridge Road.  And on June 10th, take the kids to the annual Fishing Derby at Twin Lakes park.

That’s a lot to take in, and there’s much more — July will feature concerts, events, and other fun activities.  So be sure to get a full schedule by visiting the City website at www.newrochelleny.com.

This has been Mayor Noam Bramson.  Thanks for listening.  And enjoy the season.
