Our new pocket park at Burling Lane will connect to the pedestrian bridge over I-95. (Click to enlarge.)
As part of New Rochelle’s ongoing effort to make our downtown and transit district more attractive and walkable, the City is creating a new mini-park at the corner of North Avenue and Burling Lane. This little pocket of greenery will link directly into our transit center via a utility bridge spanning I-95 (which will be opened to pedestrians for the first time.)
The work will be completed by the end of this year, although a portion of the park will not be fully landscaped until the adjacent North Avenue bridge is replaced by the NYS Thruway Authority in a couple of years.
Should be a nice improvement.
