With a happy crowd of families and sports fans looking on, New Rochelle’s softball team edged out the WFAN All-Stars in the 5th Annual Celebrity Softball game last night at City Park. Final score: 7-6.
Big thanks to New Rochelle native Craig Carton and his morning show co-host Boomer Esiason for keeping up this great tradition. And congratulations also to New Rochelle’s closer, Mariano Rivera, for preserving our lead in the ninth. (Fortunately, Mariano has had some prior experience with high-pressure saves, though none as tense or vitally important as this one.)
As usual, my contribution to the team’s success was staying off the field!
