Mayor Noam Bramson opens the front door of New Rochelle City Hall.
The day may be colder than usual, but the welcome to New Rochelle’s City Hall just got a little warmer. This morning, for the first time in many years, we opened our front door on North Avenue to the public. (The main entrance continues to be out back by the main parking lot.)
The symbolism of a closed front door never sat right with me, but getting the door unlocked wasn’t quite as easy as just turning the key. The front steps of the building had to be repaired and security measures had to be installed, and all that took a little while.
Anyhow, the work is finally done, so come on in!
