This Thursday, September 10th, there is an important Democratic primary election in New Rochelle’s Council District Six.
I strongly endorse Liz Fried.
I have known Liz for twenty years and have seen firsthand her intelligence, integrity, and deep personal commitment to New Rochelle. With an impressive professional and academic background in economics, as well as wide-ranging community experience, Liz will be an outstanding advocate for the people of District Six.
Liz and I won’t agree on every issue, and that’s fine, because all Council Members should think independently and make decisions on the merits. But Liz and I do share a coherent vision for New Rochelle’s future and a common determination to make the most of our city’s great opportunities. We will be true partners, and that really matters to the quality and professionalism of local leadership.
Turnout in primaries tends to be low, so many polling places have been consolidated for this election. Those who aren’t sure where to vote can find out here: bit.ly/NewRoVotes2015
The polls will be open from 6:00am to 9:00pm.
With so much at stake, I urge Democrats in District Six to elect a leadership team that works together constructively. Please join me in supporting Liz Fried.
