“Out of the Blue,” an a capella singing group from Oxford, is touring the United States.  First stop: New Rochelle.  Yesterday morning, they gave an impromptu performance at our train station, surprising and delighting commuters whose daily routines were suddenly transformed into something special.

The New Rochelle Council on the Arts’ deserves thanks for arranging this appearance and similar pop-up performances — all part of their “Arts Encounter” series, which aims to give our city an extra buzz of cultural energy in unexpected ways.

Here I am with the group.  Fortunately for everyone present, I did not attempt to sing.
