Voting last night on a unanimous, bipartisan basis, the City Council approved a municipal budget for 2015. This is pretty much a status quo financial plan that preserves current service levels and holds property taxes within the State tax cap.
I offered a little more detail in my discussion about the draft budget submitted by the City Manager in November. The Council made only minimal changes to the draft, most notably an increase in Police overtime, which will be used mainly to enhance Police visibility in the downtown area and around the train station.
