If you are in need of some inspiration today, look no further than this article from the front page of today’s Times.  It describes the remarkable story of Justus Uwayesu, who lost his family in the genocide in Rwanda, then overcame astonishing deprivation as an abandoned orphan to enroll this year as a freshman at Harvard.

Justus was guided by Clare Effiong, the New Rochelle resident who founded the organization Esther’s Aid.  I am very proud to know both Clare and Justus – they are extraordinary people, and the obstacles they have surmounted help us all to put our own personal challenges in the proper perspective.
