Krystal Dixon Receives Her Proclamation
We often recognize regional champions from New Rochelle. And every now and then, we have a chance to recognize individuals and teams from our community who win a state championship, which is a great accomplishment. But national champions are very rare, and so when someone from New Rochelle achieves that elite status, it’s a big deal.
So huge congratulations to Krystal Dixon for winning the 2014 USA Boxing National Championship. A terrific all-around athlete, Krystal was born and raised in New Rochelle and is a product of our public schools. She’s also a really nice and remarkably modest person, blessed with a big group of friends and family, who are thrilled by her success.
To recognize Krystal’s achievement, I was proud to proclaim today Krystal Dixon Day in New Rochelle.
