The campaign of Democratic County Executive candidate Noam Bramson chided Rob Astorino today for a disturbing pattern of skipping candidate forums and debates in recent weeks. Astorino has now skipped at least eight high profile joint appearances or debates with Mayor Bramson in the last month, often after RSVP’ing or with little or no advance notice.

Noam debates an empty podium
“What, exactly, is Rob hiding? The answer is simple: his record,” said Bramson campaign spokesman Barry Caro. “When he does show up, he reveals a “severe conservative,” to borrow Mitt Romney’s phrase. He’s applied Tea Party principles to County government, waging a war against the federal government on several fronts, bringing gun shows back to the County Center, saying pro-choice voters support “infanticide,” and claiming Marriage Equality threatened “the taproot of Western civilization.” That’s quite a bit of red meat for the right.”
Mayor Bramson and Astorino will meet in debates tomorrow night live on News12 and early Wednesday evening before the League of Women Voters. County residents will again see a sharp, ideological difference between the candidates on display.
