Do you want to get angry?
Republican Rob Astorino’s campaign is putting out garbage about Noam – and is now ducking debates and forums he’d previously agreed to attend where Noam could challenge him on the lies.
New Rochelle is a “tax and fee hell”? WRONG.
Taxes in New Rochelle are the lowest of Westchester’s big cities. That’s right, lower than in Yonkers, White Plains, Peekskill, and Mt. Vernon. New Rochelle is doing more with less thanks to sound fiscal management and smart economic development.
The tax levy in New Rochelle is even 50% lower than the tax levy in Rob Astorino’s hometown of Mt. Pleasant, where Rob served as a Town Board member for more than a decade.
Oh – and one other tax point- Astorino has all but declared “mission accomplished” on property taxes. But we’ve paid out more than $800,000,000 in total property tax increases since he took office.
Once again, a “mission accomplished” declared way too early.
But wait, there’s more!
Did Noam raise the sewer tax? NO.
Did Noam raise the sales tax? NO.
Did Noam raise the library tax? NO.
Did he give himself a free car and healthcare for life? NO and NO.
What’s more, Rob’s campaign admits its ads claiming this aren’t on the up and up. It’s nice to have a County Executive who’s a stickler for facts.
Even the Fair Campaign Practices Committee, a non-partisan group of concerned citizens tasked by the League of Women Voters to keep campaigns honest, has called these accusations untrue and unfair.
Nice job Rob!
But, the absurd notion that Noam is a “part-time Mayor” deserves a special rebuttal.
The job of governing a large, diverse City like New Rochelle takes well more than 40 hours a week. This charge is pure baloney.
If you find these facts helpful — please share them with your friends and neighbors!
