Since its formation early this year, the Citizens’ Panel on Sustainable Budgets has been working hard to identify options for saving tax dollars, improving municipal efficiency, tapping alternative revenue sources, and investing in future economic growth. The Panel is composed of fifteen residents from all corners of New Rochelle, with an impressive spectrum of public and private sector experience. You can read more about the Panel’s formation and mission here.
But, of course, even the most capable committee doesn’t have a monopoly on good ideas. That’s why the Panel is inviting the public to submit suggestions via the web. You can also submit written suggestions to the City Clerk at 515 North Avenue, New Rochelle, NY 10801.
The Panel is expected to deliver its recommendations to the City Administration and Council at the end of July, so if you have original ideas for cutting costs or balancing our budget, please take a moment to send them in.
