Please join me this Monday for New Rochelle’s Memorial Day observance. A solemn ceremony at Memorial Plaza begins at 10:30 a.m., followed by a festive parade along North Avenue and Pelham Road, ending at Hudson Park, where a second ceremony on the waterfront will honor veterans lost at sea.
And then comes the picnic — one dollar menus from local food establishments, and live music all afternoon at the Hudson Park bandshell.
New Rochelle’s Memorial Day events are presented by the United Veterans Memorial & Patriotic Association and the City of New Rochelle, with donations from many local businesses and community groups, including Monroe College, the principal financial sponsor.
Catie and I will be there with the kids to honor America’s fallen soldiers and to welcome the unofficial start of summer. I hope to see you there!
