“Race to Nowhere” is a new documentary with an unsettling look at the state of public education in the U.S. today. Some New Rochelle High School parents who saw the film in November decided to host a screening as part of a nationwide effort to bring more attention to the issues raised by first-time filmmaker Vicki Abeles.

Profits from the screening will be used to help students in Theater Works, the theater club at NRHS, pay for their upcoming trip to Scotland to perform at the American High School Theater Festival. A panel discussion will be held after the screening with parents, teachers, school administrators, and child health professionals to further explore the film’s themes.

Tickets are $10 in advance or $15 at the door.
