Low-income, elderly, and disabled residents who need help paying home heating costs this winter may find assistance through the Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP). This is a federally-funded program administered by the Westchester County Department of Social Services. Applications are now being accepted for regular and emergency assistance, as well as for funds to repair or replace heating equipment such as furnaces and boiler.

Because federal funding for this program is expected to be lower this year than last, residents in need are advised to apply for the benefit as soon as possible.

Applications are available online in English and Spanish. Call the NYS HEAP Hotline with questions: 1-800-342-3009.
