Station Dates Back to 1848

The New Rochelle Railroad Station is now listed on the National Register of Historic Places, America’s official list of cultural resources worthy of preservation. From its modest beginning in 1848 as the last stop before New York City on the single-track New Haven Line, the New Rochelle Railroad Station has played an important role in the life of our community. It is even immortalized in the song, “Only Forty-five Minutes from Broadway,” from George M. Cohan’s hit musical of 1906.
