New Rochelle’s crime rate continues to fall, reaching a forty-one year low in 2007 and cementing our community’s status as one of the safest cities of our size in the entire nation. Crime rates, of course, fluctuate month to month and year to year, so the extremely low levels recorded in 2007 may not be sustainable, but the general long-term public safety trends in New Rochelle are very positive and a great credit to the professionalism and dedication of our Police force.
