Trail Maps Erected

For several years, local and County officials have worked together to create the Colonial Greenway, a roughly fifteen-mile inter-municipal hiking trail system. What seemed at first like a relatively simple project has proven rather complicated, involving alterations in planned routes, capital upgrades to establish trail linkages, design work for logos, maps, and brochures, and the hard work of trail blazing. At long last, the end is near. Boy Scout teams have been working hard to affix trail markers, and signs containing maps and directional information were recently installed at key locations along the route. Volunteers at one of these new Colonial Greenway signs can be seen at left. A formal opening is planned for later this year.
