Council Allocates $120,000 for Engineering Analysis Of Storm Water & Sanitary System
As previously reported, the City undertook a preliminary examination of our sewer and storm water infrastructure in the aftermath of the April 15th floods. This examination revealed several blockages and flaws that have since been corrected, but also noted multiple sites that require more detailed engineering analysis. During its July meeting, the City Council unanimously approved a $120,000 expenditure for this purpose. Once completed, this new, in-depth report will serve as a precursor to capital improvements aimed at mitigating or preventing future flooding. Depending upon the price tag for recommended improvements, the City may choose to undertake this work on a phased basis, through a storm water management district, or utilizing grants.
