Aims To Enhance Cleanliness from Train Station to Treno Street
In an effort to improve the appearance of one of New Rochelle’s most heavily trafficked arteries, the City Council has approved a sidewalk cleaning pilot program for North Avenue, between the train station and Treno Street. While the City will continue to enforce the sidewalk maintenance responsibilities of adjoining property owners, the new program will provide a supplementary level of service, similar to the BID’s downtown program. If this experiment proves successful, then the model may be expanded to other commercial corridors, such as West Main and Union Avenue.
