New City Program Addresses Safety & Speeding Concerns
As reported previously, The City has created a new Residential Traffic Calming Program aimed at addressing neighborhood traffic safety concerns through the use of speed humps, islands, road narrowing, regulatory changes, and educational efforts.
If you are interested in applying for such treatments in your neighborhood, you can download an application HERE, or pick one up at the Department of Public Works at City Hall.
Applications should include a description of specific traffic concerns and must be accompanied by the signatures of 50% of the residents within a proposed study area. Eligible projects will then be ranked and prioritized by the Department of Public Works based on objective scoring criteria.
For further information, contact the Department of Public Works at 654-2131.
