Action Will Benefit Those With Incomes Below $34,400
In an effort to assist low-income senior citizens and persons with permanent disabilities, the City Council has acted to provide property tax reductions to qualified homeowners. The tax cuts are set on a sliding scale and can offer relief from as much as 50% of one’s tax obligations for those with the lowest annual incomes. Eligibility levels will increase gradually during the next four years to account for inflation. While most residents of New Rochelle will not be eligible for these tax cuts, they will provide substantial relief to those who need help most.
