Clothing & Household Items Accepted At All New Rochelle Firehouses

On March 19th, a major fire on Park Place left four families homeless and injured one New Rochelle firefighter. The quick response of the Westchester Chapter of the American Red Cross in addressing the immediate lodging and counseling needs of the victims was impressive, but the families affected lost nearly all of their possessions. The following day, I joined Fire Commissioner Raymond Kiernan to announce that all New Rochelle firehouses would immediately begin accepting donations of clothing and household items for victims of the blaze. We will continue accepting goods until March 27th. After that date, interested citizens can still make financial contributions by sending checks to “New Rochelle Cares” c/o Mayor’s Office, 515 North Avenue, New Rochelle, NY 10801. The entirety of the funds collected will be utilized to assist the victims of the Park Place fire.
