As reported in a previous e-bulletin, the City plans to increase the minimum lot size in several neighborhoods to more accurately reflect existing housing patterns and to ensure that new subdivisions are consistent with the character of their surrounding area. Within Council District Five, the minimum lot size in the Beechmont, Bonnie Crest, Forest Heights, Paine Heights, Pryer Manor Marsh, Ward Acres, and Wykagyl Park neighborhoods is proposed to be increased from the current 10,000 square feet up to 15,000 square feet. A portion of the Sun Haven neighborhood is slated for an increase from 7,500 square feet to 10,000 square feet. The re-zoning will NOT affect additions or expansions to any existing homes. A public hearing on this subject is scheduled for Tuesday, May 10th at 8:00pm at New Rochelle City Hall.
