The City of New Rochelle has joined the County’s HopeLine cell phone recycling program which uses resale proceeds to support local domestic violence shelters and to purchase phones for victims of domestic violence. An old wireless phone can become a lifeline for a woman at risk, rather than an addition to a local landfill.
Residents of New Rochelle can drop off cell phones at their local fire station. In addition, cell phones may be dropped off at recycling depots, and at all Verizon Wireless Communications Stores in Westchester County. Phones that are collected and cannot be refurbished are disposed of in an environmentally-friendly manner.
