The City of New Rochelle is applying for a grant from the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) which would help defray the cost of installing a photovoltaic power generation system at City Hall. We estimate that solar power would reduce our energy costs by roughly 15%, allowing the City to pay back its share of installation costs within 6 to 9 years.
