The New Rochelle train station is an important gateway to our community and one of the most heavily-used public institutions in the city. With completion of the new Intermodal Transportation Center (ITC) now slated for April, the City is taking additional steps to upgrade the appearance of and services available at the station. Last night, the Council voted to accept a lease agreement with the Lembo Corporation for the creation of a new café. Among other things, Lembo will make a $150,000 capital investment in the site. The City has also concluded a lease agreement with Hangers Cleaners for a new dry-cleaning business. Finally, in conjunction with the ITCs completion, the City plans to substantially improve maintenance of the train station restrooms a perennial source of concern.
