At the time of my last update, election results in Council Districts Two and Four were still too close to call. The outcome of these contests is now official. In Council District Two, Democrat Jack Quinlan defeated Republican Albert Tarrantino by eight votes. In Council District Four, Democrat Roberto Lopez defeated Republican Rosemary McLaughlin by eighteen votes. Roberto becomes the first Hispanic elected official in New Rochelle’s history. The overall composition of the new City Council will be six Democrats (including the Mayor) and one Republican.
